Have you ever thought about how cool it would be to date someone on Halloween day? The 31th October is one of those dates when even if you have just met someone, you will still be able to enjoy the scariest day of the year in the craziest way. But this time, think for both of you and find out which are the funniest and most spontaneous venues in London that will guarantee you a total successful date. Here is my Halloween dating guide for those looking for a terrifying but romantic date!
1. Meet up in a candy shop
We all love sweets because they remind us of our childhood. Take your date to one of those little shops full of treats and colours. You can compare your stories and remember what your favourite candies. Why not choose Covent Garden and visit sweetshops like Hope and Greenwood (1 Russell Street, London); they have all sorts of fizz-bang wallops and the staff will be happy to offer you samples to taste!
2. Watch the Scary Halloween Show
Prepare yourself for laughs at the Scary Halloween Show (The Invisible Dot: 2 Northdown St King’s Cross, London). From Monday 28th to Thursday 31th October, you’ll have the chance to see British comedy legends such as Kevin Eldon. Is there a better way to break the ice?
3. Take the Jack the Ripper Tour

Let’s transport you and your date to the places where the city’s infamous murders happened. The Ten Bells (84 Commercial St, London) in Spitalfields could be the ideal place for a first pint. But not only the most famous British murderer is related to this venue, in October 2011 this busy bar was also featured in the Jamie Oliver series Jamie’s Great Britain. Great atmosphere, great beers and great stories. Could we ask for more?
4. Enjoy a Halloween dinner at home
This is the perfect time of year to go wild in the kitchen. Be creative, come up with a Halloween special menu and of course, dress up for the occasion- design and send your date an invitation with lots of pumpkins- Don´t forget the wine and candles!
5. A Visit to Madams Tussauds & Regents Park

If you want to make your date laugh don’t hesitate to visit Madams Tussauds (Marylebone Rd, London). Remember here you´ll be surrounded by celebrities that will be happy to take a picture with the two of you! After the visit, take a walk through the romantic Regents Park. If you fancy a drink, get lost in Marylebone and get to know each other while tasting a glass of red wine at any of the many Parisian style wine bars in the area.
If you live outside London and fancy a bit of adrenalin, then I have some good news. London Horror Festival runs from the 14th to the 31th October. The Camden area could also be a good option thanks to the big number of events housed by The Etcetera Theatre.
